2026 marks the 25th year of Mad Dame. ✨
This year I held a gallery that explored and embraced my greatest love. I honoured my self portraits and every version of myself over 25 years. 💖
My exploration started in the noughties, posting to forgotten sites like DeviantArt and Myspace. I would change my eye colour, explore hair colour, I just wanted to be seen on the internet. In my self portraits, I could be anything I wanted to be and no one would be there to stop me. Over time, I slowly stopped editing myself because of the online communities that gave me support on how great my photos were and how vulnerable I was being.
Self portraits became my safe haven, and a journal about what I was going through at the time. 📸
I loved connecting with my #GlitterCult over my self portraits embedded in cyberspace, my selfie era, and exploring the darkest versions of myself. From my hypercolour era, to the time I spent in Europe, I'm honoured to have shared the progress of my creative life.
