Mad Dame Studio – Simple Terms of Hire
Thanks for choosing Mad Dame Studio! Here’s what you need to know before your booking:
1. Bookings
- Your booking isn’t locked in until it’s fully paid.
- Bookings are non-refundable.
- If you cancel with more than 48 hours notice, you can reschedule once.
- If you cancel with less than 48 hours notice, the booking fee is forfeited.
2. Bond / Security Hold
- First-time hirers may need to leave a $250 refundable bond (cash or credit card hold).
- This covers any damage, lost gear, or extra cleaning.
- If everything’s left as you found it, the bond is returned in full.
3. Studio Equipment & Backdrops
- Your booking includes use of our listed lights, backdrops, furniture, and props.
- Please use all equipment with care — damage or loss will be charged at replacement/repair cost.
- Backdrop paper is complimentary, If you need a specific colour, please check ahead or bring your own roll.
- $10 fee to request paper roll change over.
4. Respect the Space
- No smoking, or illegal substances.
- Respect neighbouring artists, noise and music to a reasonable level.
- Leave the studio how you found it. Extra cleaning is billed at $110. Vacuum and mo provided. Bins are down the hall.
- Return all gear and furniture to its original spot.
5. Time & Overtime
- Your booking time includes set-up and pack-down.
- If you run over time, extra is charged at $110 per hour.
6. Safety & Liability
- You’re responsible for your own safety, belongings, and insurance while using the studio.
- Fire alarms set off during your hire (and any fire department call-out fees) will be billed to you.
- Mad Dame Studio isn’t liable for any loss, injury, or damage during your session.
7. Unexpected Events (Force Majeure)
- If something outside our control (like a power outage, building emergency, or natural disaster) stops us from running your booking, we’ll do our best to reschedule or refund you.
- We’re not responsible for any extra costs caused by these events.
8. Keys
• Please keep the building and entrances locked. Including stairwells & toilets. If studio keys are lost, misplaced, or not returned, the hirer is responsible for the full cost of replacement, $70 per key & FOB. This may include the cost of new keys, locks, and any security call-out fees required.
9. Agreement
By booking, you agree to these terms.
